Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details:

Location Mercy Hospital Jefferson - Interventional Radiology 1400 US Highway 61 Festus, Missouri 63028 Hours/Schedule Full-Time Days (40hrs/Week) Monday-Friday No Weekends, No Call Schedule.

Provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. Responsibilities include conducting pre-procedure assessments, educating patients and families, monitoring patient status throughout care, assisting physicians during vascular and non-vascular procedures, administering medications and moderate sedation, maintaining a safe procedural environment, and providing post-procedure recovery care. The IR Nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, manage potential complications, and coordinate discharge, admission, or transfer of care.

Qualifications: Education:

Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program. Licensure:

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Physical requirements/demands: - Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. - Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. - Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties. Experience: Certifications: - Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe: - ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Why Mercy?
