Job Title:  Spacecraft Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer II

Location: Cedar Park, TX

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $100K-$110K /Year (may consider higher). Relocation assistance provided. RSU's stock. 

About the Opportunity:

• Join a cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing team focused on building and delivering spacecraft propulsion systems. In this hands-on engineering role, you'll lead the transition of products from development into production while driving improvements in manufacturing processes, quality, and efficiency. Act as a liaison between manufacturing floor and design engineering. Write work instructions, builds, work with technicians to troubleshoot. Organize production floor for future higher production. Lead project(s) vehicle build.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the transition of propulsion products from development into production.
• Own the fabrication, assembly, and testing processes for spacecraft propulsion subassemblies.
• Develop assembly instructions and partner with technicians to implement and qualify new manufacturing processes.
• Drive continuous process improvements to increase production efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Investigate process failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams by participating in design and manufacturability reviews.
• Develop functional checkout procedures and manage non-conformances through corrective action plans.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Min 1 year of hands-on experience with pressurized gas or fluid systems
• Min 1 year of experience writing work instructions and/or test procedures 
• Min 3 years of experience working in a Manufacturing Engineer role, including:
  • At least 1 year of experience within an aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment 
  • Experience with complex assemblies, e.g. production in aerospace/aviation/automotive industries and complex troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of data analysis packages (Python/Excel/SQL)

What Sets You Apart:

• Min 1 year of experience with m anufacturing product lifecycle management PLM systems (Teamcenter, Odoo, or similar)
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques (welding, brazing, casting, additive fabrication, forging, spin forming, etc.)
• Experience with writing assembly procedures for mechanical, electrical, or structural systems
• Experience writing test plans, procedures and identifying pass/fail criteria on systems
• Experience with modern manufacturing principles, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
• Experience with complex system assembly and hands on build experience preferably in space systems or aerospace applications
• Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibrational, shock, etc).
• Working knowledge of common fluid components (valves, regulators, instrumentation)
